Not found in all plant/ animal cells.
Ex: Keratin in hair, nails, claws, etc.

2 dimensional mesh work of IFs formed by lamins, lines surface of nuclear envelope, gives structure integrity and stability and shape to nuclear envelope, important in mitosis
