What is acceptance testing? (AT)
Part of the quality control, the first opportunity to determine whether imaging equipment meets certain baseline requirements before being used on a patient and is usually the responsibility of the medical physicist
What are cassette-based systems?
Uses an external imaging plate that is exposed to possible damage within the scanning unit and from being physically transported between the scanning equipment and the reader unit
What are cassette-less systems?
They use a single fixed image plate that is protected from the kind of damage found in cassette based systems because it is encased in special housing that does not come into contact with the unit and it doesn't need to be physically transported
