Movement
All organisms have the ability to move. Organisms have to catch food, avoid predators, find shelter or a mate.
Respiration
The release of energy through food, usually using oxygen. It happens in every living cell.
Sensitivity
This is the ability of an organism to respond to its environment. Large animals have complex sense organs.
Growth
Permanent increase in body size which occurs when cells divide by mitosis.
Reproduction
All organisms must reproduce to ensure the continuity of their species. Reproduction can be sexual or asexual.
Excretion
During chemical reactions, organisms produce waste products which are toxic to the cells and must be removed from the organism. eg: urea = produced in humans and removed through urine.
Nutrition
This is the process by which the orgamism obtains nutrients necessary for growth etc.
