Atomic structure subatomic particles
Atoms are composed to subatomic particles.
Protons are positive
Electron are negative
Neutron is neutral
The nucleus is the atoms core that electrons orbit the nucleus.
Atomic structure what is the electrons energy and orbitals
Electrons orbit the nucleus of an atom in electron shells.
The farther the electron from nucleus the greater it's energy.
# of electrons in outer shell determines the chemical properties of an atom.
Bonds what is ionic vs. Covalent?
Atoms that lose or gain electrons become electrically charged which those atoms are called ions.
Ionic bonds form between oppositely charged ions.
Covalent bond is two atoms share one outer shell electrons and they are the strongest. They hold together a molecule. They form equal to the number electrons to fill it's outer shell.
