Centre of gravity
The center point of balance of an object.
Located approx inside pelvis and in front of sacrum
Gymnast performing on a bdkancd beam and needs to perform a backflip, hence needs good center of gravity as an advantage to stay up right on beam
Base of support
All parts of body and assistive devices that are in contact with supportive surfaces.
The larger the base of support the greater the stability
A surfers base of support needs to be large upon the board do balance and stability is greater to suit the unexpected and unpredictable choppy nature of the environment that is the waves
Line of gravity
Imaginary line that extends from the center of gravity to base of support
Helps body remain stable. The point changes as body shape changes.
When performing a back flip it changes to help keep balanced whilst performing and coming back into contact with base of support which is the ground
