What is a synergist?
Muscles that tend to function groups to accomplish specific movements. Ex. Deltoid, biceps brachii and pectoralis major all help to flex the shoulder.
What is a antagonist?
The opposed muscle or group of muscles. Ex. In elbow flexion, the biceps brachii is the agonist (flexes) whereas the triceps brachii is the anatagonist (extends), roles are reversed.
What is a fixator?
The stabilizers of prime movers (usually holding one bone in place while relative to the body while a more distal bone is moved) ex. When moving the humerus, the muscles of the scapula act as fixators to hold scapula in place.
