Layers of Earth from surface to core

1. Crust

2. Mantle

3. Outer core

4. Inner core

Materials in continental crust

The continental crust is made mostly of silicon and aluminum

Components of mantle

Has different silicate rocks and had more mandingo and iron than the crust

Tectonic plates and lithosphere

Tectonic plates are a combination of crust and mantle. This area is called the lithosphere.

Faults

Faults are where the tectonic plates come together.

Outer core

The outer core is made of iron and nickel and is extremely hot. In fact, it is so hot that the iron and nickel are liquids. The outer core creates the magnetic field that shields the Earth from solar eine.

Inner core

The inner core is also made of iron and nickel, but it is under do much pressure that it is solid even though it is extremely hot.
