What is Operant conditioning?

(Skinner,1938) model focusing on positive/negative reinforcements.

What is a positive reinforcement?

Dopamine being released due to gambling. Dopamine is the reward chemical. Taking part in the behaviour causes pleasure

What is a negative reinforcement?

Withdrawal, resulting in negative symptoms thus wanting to persist in the behaviour to move away from the pain.

What is punishment within operant conditoning?

Taking part in a behaviour that has negative consquences.

What is pavlov conditoning?

This is classical conditioning. Association of stimuli through cues. Example associate needle with drugs. The sight of a pub to drinking. The association leads to a conditioned response
