SHAKER PINT

- Beer styles: American beer styles of normal strength (i.e. Pale Ale, IPA, Amber, Brown ale, Porter, etc)

- Typically 16 oz. Does very little to enhance beer aroma, flavor or presentation.

ENGLISH TULIP

- Beer styles: Irish/Dry Stout

NONIC/IMPERIAL PINT

- Beer styles: Low gravity, British session beers (i.e. Bitters, Milds)

- Common British pub pint glass. 20 oz. The bubbled out section makes them easier to stack, prevents chipping around the rim and makes them easier to hold

SNIFTER

- Beer styles: Recommended for very strong beer (i.e. barleywines and imperial stouts)

- Allow full contact with the hand to warm the glass as they're held. They concentrate the aroma at the nose. They are appropriately smaller considering the high ABV's of the beers

STEMMED TULIP

- Beer styles: Commonly associated with Belgian beer

- The inward taper holds the beer's aroma, while the small outward taper at the top makes it easier to drink from and supports the head

PILSNER GLASS (aka "TAPERED PILSNER GLASS")

- Beer styles: Pilsners

- The tall, narrow shape shows off the beer's pale color, the outward taper supports the beer's head. the foot is elegant. The originally became popular during the 1930s, thus the Art Deco-like design

GERMAN VASE (aka "WEISSBIER VASE")

- Beer styles: Hefeweizen & other wheat beers

- The large size holds & supports lots of foam

BOLLEKE (aka "GOBLET" or "BOLLEKE GOBLET")

- Beer styles: Trappist ales, Barleywines, Imperial stouts

- Sometimes has a ball/spherical shape(s) in the tulip of the glass

- The DeKonnick brewery famously has a modified branded glass

POKAL

- Beer styles: Classic for Bocks

- There are updated Pokal glasses with a more rounded inward taper, not unlike a stemmed tulip but without the outward flare at the top.

- Broadly, these are good general purpose glasses for high-class beers like Belgian Tripels, Maibocks, Imperial IPA's & other strong beers

UPDATED POKAL

- Beer styles: Broadly, these are good general purpose glasses for high-class beers like Belgian Tripels, Maibocks, Imperial IPA's & other strong beers

ENGLISH DIMPLED PINT

- Beer styles: British session beers (i.e. Mild & Bitter)

- The cut lens design plays with the light and color of the beer. The handle keeps the drinker from warming the beer with your hand

BAVARIAN SEIDEL

- Beer styles: Low-ABV, German session beers (i.e. Pilsner, Helles or Oktoberfest)

- Large, tall, dimpled German mug. Essentially a copy of the large, much older stone mugs that were used for centuries

STANGE

- Beer styles: Kölsch

- Usually around 200 ml. Requires the glass to be refreshed often so the drinker then almost continuously has cold, refreshing Kölsch. The small size also intensifies the flavors and aromas.

THISTLE

- Beer styles: Scottish ales, especially Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy, and other strong styles

- Similar to a stemmed tulip. The "thistle" is Scotland's official flower. The shape enhances the aroma and support, a large, dense head
