Causes of chest pain

Cardiovascular - myocarditis , angina , MI , unstable angina , aortic aneurysm , mitral valve prolapse



Respiratory - pulmonary embolism , pleuritis , pneumothorax , pneumonia




Psychiatric - conversion disorder , malingering




GI - GRD , peptic ulcer disease



Musculoskeletal - costochondritis

Not Myocardial infarction if

The patient can pinpoint the area of pain..knife life pain...mostly it could be due to musculoskeletal not MI

When u give nitroglycerin

If pain becomes less it is then due to transient ischemia


If the pain becomes worse then it is mostly due to GERD
