Ethical problems

Has to know the kind of ethical problems present in the counseling process.

Counselor

They have categorized ethical problems usually met by a guidance counselor

The counselor’s behavior is below acceptable standards.

Counselor competence

The counselee requests not to divulge information to anybody else.

Confidentiality

The counselor’s function is multiple: as a friend, counselor, and superior. If the counselor is fully aware of his role, it becomes easy to deal with.

Role conflict

The clients have problems with their employer or superiors.

Conflicts with employer or institution

Disclosing information to a third party may endanger the client and others.

Danger

It is mandatory for the counselor to adhere to ethical guidelines. When the counselor is sensitive to the effects of the counseling action and interaction on the client and society, it is aspirational.

Published in 1968 was drafted and revised by the ethics committee created by the Philippine Guidance and Personnel Association(PGPA)

The Code of Ethics

States that counseling psychologists have to abide by the Code of Ethics. She further stated that counseling psychology in the Philippines needs to be revised and modified.
