- Drug use by youth is much higher than adult use (3x higherfor weed, and 5x higher for illicit drugs)


- 3% abuse pain reliever, sedatives or tranquilizers


Why is it such a big problem?

Drugs aren’t regulated for quality and may contain othertoxic ingredients.




It leads to more problems including crime, illnesses,domestic violence, etc.


What is the National Anti-Drug strategy?

focuses on prevention and access to treatment for those withdrug dependencies, and getting tough with drug dealers and producers.



What are the three action plans the NAD strategy is made up of?

1. Prevention- aims to prevent illicit drug use


2. Treatment- aims to treat those with drug dependencies


3. Enforcement- aims to combat production and distribution of illicit drugs
