What is health psychology? What two things does it focus on?
the field of psychology that studies the relationships between psychological factors and the prevention and treatment of physical illness.

What are the two major sources of stress? How do they differ?
daily hassles and life changes. Many life changes are positive and desirable while hassles, by definition, are negative. Hassles also occur regularly, while life changes occur at irregular intervals.

- The Alarm Reaction: the first stage of the GAS, which is triggered by the impact of a stressor and characterized by sympathetic activity
- The Resistance Stage: the second stage of the GAS, characterized by prolonged sympathetic activity in an effort to restore lost energy and repair damage; also called the adaptation stage
- The Exhaustion Stage: the third stage of the GAS, characterized by weakened resistance and possible deterioration
