What is the Ems system?
An organization that coordinates emergency care as part of continuum of healthcare..
What is an EMT?
Provides basic emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the EMS system including advaned oxygen therapy, and ventilation eqiuptment, pulse oximetry, use of automatic blood monitoring equip. and limited medication administration.
What is a advanced emergeny medical technician? (AEMT)
Provides the responsibilities of an emt with the addition of use of advanced airway devices, monitoring blood glucose levels, initiation of intravaneous and intraosseous infusions, and administrations of a select number of medications.
What is a paramedic?
Provides the highest level of prehospital care, including advanced assesments,formation of field impression, and invasiev and druf interventions.
What is a emergency medical responder? ( EMR)
The first person on the scene who has emergency care training.
What is prehospital or out of hospital care?
Care that is provided prior to transport to the hosptial.
What are the roles and responsibilities of an EMT?
Personal safety, safety of others, maintaining vehicle and equipment readiness; emergency vehicle operation, patient assesment and emergency medical care, safe lifting and moving, transfer of the patient.
EMT priorities?
First is your safety, the safety of other rescuers. Once the scene is safe the patient is your priority.
What does the healthcare system include?
