What does ISDN stand for?

What are the different kinds of ISDN channels?
|
D channels are used to establish connections and send management packets. B channels are used to send data.

What are the different kinds of ISDN interfaces?
|
Basic Rate Interface (BRI) includes one D channel and 2 B channels. Primary Rate Interface (PRI) includes one D channel and either 23 B channels (T1) or 30 B channels (E1) depending on whether you are in the US or Europe.

What is a SPID?
|
Service profile identifier. It's a decimal number assigned by the ISP that uniquely identifies an ISDN device.

What is the basic process for a Legacy DDR connection?
|
1. Route packets out the interface to be dialed. 2. Determine the subset of packets that trigger the dialing process. 3. Dial. 4. Determine when the connection is terminated.
