Temporary endeavor with a defined beginning and an end that creates a unique product, service, or result.

What is the difference between operational and project work?

Operational work is ongoing to support the business and systems of the organization, and project work ends when the project is closed.

What is a program?

Group of related projects. Projects are grouped into programs to coordinate the management of those projects.

What is a portfolio?

Group of programs, individual projects, and other related work that are prioritized, and implemented to achieve a specific strategic business goal.

Project Management Office. Centralizes and standardizes the management of projects. Departmental unit within the organization.
