A moral code that people and businesses decide to follow. Based on what they believe to be morally correct.

Organisations that support causes and try to make the Government or businesses change the way they do things eg PETA

Supply Chain

The process of getting the product from the raw materials to the customer.




This could involve using immoral methods such as child labour.

Resource Depletion

The using of resources in production which depletes world supplies.

Climate change

The impact of the increase in greenhouse gases from increased production across the world.

Pollution

Negative impacts caused by businesses. Could be linked to air, noise, odours or water.

Recycling

Converting waste products into something that can be used again. This can help improve business image

Developed Countries

Countries that have a relatively high income per person.

Developing Countries

Countries that have a lower income per person.

Import

The purchase of a good or service from a foreign business eg A UK citizen buying an iPhone

Export

The sale of a good or service to a foreign buyer eg a French citizen buying a Mulberry bag

Protectionist Policies

Policies to reduce foreign imports coming into countries to try to protect local businesses.

Tariffs

A tax put on goods coming into your country to raise the price and make it look less attractive to buyers.

Quotas

A limit on the number of goods foreign businesses can export to your country

Export Subsidies

Where the government gives financial help to those exporting, with the aim of making the goods cheaper and hence more attractive to foreign buyers.

Regulations

All the rules businesses have to follow, sometimes called Red Tape.

Minimum Wage

The lowest payment per hour that can be given to a worker, by law.
