Hypothalamus: hormone regulation via communication with the pituitary gland, emotion and behavioral drives (hunger), voluntary and autonomic function

Mescencephalon: processes sight, sound, and associated reflexes




Pons: connects cerebellum to brain stem

*abundance of cranial nerves (Trigeminal, vestibulocochlear, abducens, facial)




Medulla oblongata: connects brain to spinal cord


F: relays information, regulateds autonomic functions (HR, BP, respiration)
