ETR

FTO
Field Ticket Office at an airport.
GATEWAY CITY
A passenger's first point of arrival or last departure point when traveling from one country to another.
HUB CITY
A central point that receives passengers arriving on flights from any location and then transfers them to flights departing to their final destination.
IATA
International Air Transport Association--An association that establishes international rules and standards for participating air carriers.
INBOUND
An arriving flight.
INTERLINE
Between airlines.
IROP
Acronym for Irregular Operations. Anything that causes a flight to deviate from its planned schedule, not including major weather disruptions or airport closures.
ITINERARY
The part of the PNR which is made up of air space, rental cars, hotels or tour information.
KIOSK
Resembling small, stand-alone ATM machines. Delta's self-service check-in kiosks are a convenient tool for customers to complete simple transactions, such as check-in and baggage check.
KM
Knowledge Management. Information database for all Delta information with a similar format as Google search engines.
LEG
The space between two consecutive scheduled stops on any given flight.
NON STOP FLIGHT
A flight that makes no stops from the passenger's board point to off point.
OA or OAL
Other airline.
ONE WAY
Travel from origin to destination with no return.
OPERATING CARRIER
The airline that operates the flight and allows a codeshare partner to market its 2-letter code and sell seats on its flight.
ORIGIN
The passenger's first board point.
OUTBOUND
A departing flight.
PBT
Passenger Bag Tag Data Base-Delta's internal baggage tracking System.
PNR
Passenger Name Record-Passenger reservation containing a passenger's phone number, itinerary, name, and ticketing information.
RECORD LOCATOR
The six digit confirmation code assigned to a PNR.
ROUND TRIP
Travel from origin to destination and return to the same origin point.
SEGMENT
Part of a journey from a passenger's boarding pont to a deplaning point. Each flight coupon represents a segment of a trip.
SITA
Societe Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautiques--the airline communications company that created and maintains World Tracer.
SKYMILES
Delta Air Lines' incentive program for the frequent traveler: Passengers are eligible for awards based on miles accumulated by using Delta or our partners.
WORLDTRACER
Centralized baggage tracing system created and maintained by SITA and currently used by over 360 members.
