Pulmonary Artery

Explain why Arteries have thicker walls than veins.

Arteries are under more pressure from the heart beats, while the veins are just flowing blood back to the heart using valves as a one way system.

How does the blood become oxygenated and deoxygenated?

Blood rich in oxygen that travels around the body becomes deoxygenated when the oxygen is transferred in the capillaries into the muscles and tissues where the blood then becomes deoxygenated. After that the blood goes to the lungs to get rid of waste it picks up oxygen and repeat the process.
