What do digestive enzymes do?

Break down big molecules (eg starch, proteins and fats). And turn them into smaller molecules like sugars and amino acids.

When the big molecules/small molecules have been broken down, what happens?

The now smaller molecules can pass easily through the walls of the digestive system, so they can be absorbed into the blood stream

What is Amylase?

It is like carbohydrase. It breaks down starch.
