Network of fibers extending throughout cytoplasm. Provides mechanical support to the cell and help a cell maintain its shape. Types of fibers made from different proteins. Microtubules that guide the movement of organelles and chromosomes. Intermediate filaments and microfilaments are thinner and solid. They provide and reinforcement for many organelles. Contributes to the amoeboid movements of the Protists amoeba and some of our white blood cells. |
