What is dehydration synthesis?
When a covalent bond is formed between two subunit molecules, and an -OH (hydroxyl) group is removed from one subunit and a hydrogen atom (H) is removed from the other subunit. These removed units form a water molecule and is why it is called "dehydration" synthesis.
