Honey Bee
A bee that produces honey and lives in colonies.
Insect
An arthropod with the body divided into a head, thorax, and abdomen; with 3 pairs of jointed legs; and 1 or 2 pairs of wings.
Thorax
The middle of the body of an insect.
Abdomen
The hind portion of the body behind the thorax.
Colony
A group of plants or animals that belong to one species (as a colony of bees).
Hive
The usually above-ground nest of bees.
Queen
The fertile, fully-developed female of social bees whose purpose is to lay eggs.
