Devil's advocacy technique
Used to counter GroupThink. A critical analysis of a preferred alternative to ascertain its strengths and weaknesses before it is implemented. The purpose is to identify all the reasons that might make the preferred alternative unacceptable after all.
Dialectical inquiry
Logical argumentation.
Brainstorming
Face-to-face group problem solving technique. Avoid Production blocking which is a loss of productivity in brainstorming sessions due to its unstructured nature.
Nominal Group Technique
Group members write down ideas and solutions, read their suggestions to the whole group, and discuss and rank the alternatives.
