 Alignment A technical term used in dancing referring to the position of the feet in a forward or backwards step when the feet should be perfectly in line and turned neither in nor out and with the inside of each foot touching an imaginary line drawn through the middle of the body. The term can also be used to refer to the direction of the directional line of some part of the figure.
