What is business analysis? |
• One should not restrict the BA role to only being a link between Non-It and IT or only for development projects. • A BA is able to bring in improvements, changes (technology, process, people etc.) in an efficient manner. • So, a BA could be part of the marketing team who helps the marketing team in providing estimates/high level solutions for a said project which is under the process of procurement. • Or he could be someone involved during the Requirement gathering/analysis once the project is initiated. Or • he could be someone who brings profit to the company by performing process improvement activities ROIs at process level. Last but not the least BAs could be domain specific as well. |

Please describe your BA responsibilities in your last job. |
As a BA in my last project, I was responsible for gathering and documenting requirements from business users, business requirement documents, RTM Real Time monitoring: method of observing and analyzing different types of data as it is being accessed), and test cases, test plan. • Developed business model and analyzed the model. Facilitated JAD session whenever required. (Joint Application Development (JAD) is a process used to collect business requirements while developing new information) • I as a business analyst should take lead to make sure that the team is kept focused all the time even in the presence absence of the scrum master. • Previous project helped in estimation- Analog estimation. • Arranging meeting on timely manner, keeping 5 w's in my mind 'When, What, Why, Whom and Where • Better understanding of the usage of different. |
