Aft overhead panel landing gear indicator lights

- separate circuits


- green = gear down and locked even if main panel extinguished


*only 1 light (center or overhead panel) needs to be illum for gear to be considered down/locked

Gear retraction

- extension/retraction pwrd System A


- main wheel de-spin


- nose wheel stopped by internal snubber


- if spinning tire w/ loose tread impacts fitting in wheel well, retraction stopped and gear free falls to down pos


- mechanical uplocks hold mains


- overcentre lock holds nose up

Gear extension

- hyd pressure, gravity and air loads


- held in place by overcentre mechanical and hydraulic locks

Manual extension

- may be req if System A press lost


- gear free falls into pos via gravity and air loads after unlocks released (manual release)

NWS

- System A pwr


Nose Wheel Steer Alt switch


- power from system B



- must be on ground to power


- turns up to 78° either direction


- for towing/pushback, lockout pin will depressurize NWS

Brakes

Normal brakes - pwrd system B


Alternate brakes - auto pwrd system A when system B press low/ fails


Brake accumulator


- trapped press can provide several brake apps or used to set park brake when loss of normal and alt brakes

Antiskid

Normal brakes - ea main wheel


Alt brakes - ea main wheel pair



- if skid detection, press reduced to wheel/pair until skid stops



- w/ loss of both A and B system, protection still available

ANTI SKID INOP

- reduced thrust TO Prohibited


- Prohibited on wet, slippery, or contaminated rwys

Autobrakes

- only avail w/ normal system B



For RTO to arm


- a/c on ground


- antiskid and autobrake operational


- switch to RTO


- wheel spin < 60kts


- thrust levers idle



*if RTO < 90kts, autobraking will not start

AUTOBRAKE DISARM

In air


- when landing selection made, system self-tests


- amber light if test unsuccessful


- system doesn't arm



On ground


- speed brake lever to down detent


- 1/both thrust levers advanced


- Man braking applied
