What does VFTO stand for and when must it be achieved?

Velocity Final Take-off

The speed that must be achieved before commencing the enroute climb at the end of the level acceleration.

VFTO marks the end of the level acceleration after an engine failure after V1

What is VFTO in normal non icing conditions?

White bug

What is VFTO in icing conditions?

It is not bugged, but it is in the ops data under Final Take-off, Icing (flaps 15).

What does VmLB mean?

What does VmHB mean?

Low bank manoeuvre speed

High bank manoeuvre speed

When is VFTO and VmLB 0 the same?

In normal conditions

When is VFTO and VmLB 15 the same speed?

In icing conditions

What does VFGA stand for and when is it used?

Velocity Final Go-Around speed

It is only used in single engine go arounds (in a two engine go-around, the speed bug will change on its own provided you're in speed auto)

When must VFGA be achieved?

Before commencing the enroute climb at the end of the level acceleration. It's the same concept as VFTO for take-off

What is VFGA in normal conditions?

Ops data drift down speed (flaps 0).

In normal conditions, this will be white bug

What is VFGA in icing conditions?

Drift Down icing speed (flaps 15)

What is Vx?

Normal conditions white bug

Icing conditions DDCS (drift down icing, flap 15). Some say you need to take flap and decelerate to achieve. In an emergency consider taking flap to climb

What is Vy?

Normal conditions, white bug +10

Icing conditions, either amber bug +10, or DDCS icing +10 (more correct answer, and use in an emergency, but in a non emergency and you've already cleaned up and atc want more climb performance amber bug +10 is fine)

Flying along normal conditions and an engine fails (either one or both) what speed do we fly?

Drift down normal conditions, flaps 0

This is white bug (in icing conditions white bug disappears), and VminOps

If an engine fails in icing conditions, what speed do we fly?

We take flap 15 and fly VminOps (Amber bug is too fast)

If we have to drift down, what speed do we fly?

VminOps

Icing conditions take flap and fly VminOps

When does white bug change from VFTO to VmLB0?

After the take off phase is complete

(the actual speed is still the same ie 129kts at 19T, just the meaning of the speed has changed)
