TURP
Priority intervention – red colored urine with clots. Irrigate catheter gently with 30-50mL of bladder irrigating solution to help remove any clots. Goal is to have output pink in color w/ no visible clots. The flow rate of the CBI should be increased to achieve the desired result.

Health promotion Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Encourage the client to avoid food that contains dairy, eggs, and wheat products.
● Encourage the client to avoid alcoholic and caffeinated beverages. Beverages containing
fructose and sorbitol should be avoided.
● Encourage the client to drink 2 to 3 L/fluid per day from food and fluid sources.
● Encourage the client to increase the amount of daily fiber intake (approximately 30 to
40 mg/day).
