Preferably with spirometry showing variable (reversible) expiratory airflow limitation - e.g. serial spiro (FEV1)/ PEF increase > 20% reversibility with bronchodilator or one off spiro showing > 12 % FEV1 increase ( reversibility) and Exclude differential diagnosis
