The vineyard area is situated inland, behind the Andes. Here, the altitude provides the conditions needed to grow grapes in an otherwise too warm area.

Planting at altitude, using the pergola system, as well canopy management to shade grapes to mitigate sun and heat and irrigation all aid grape growing here.

Further south of Salta lies La Rioja. Here the vast majority of plantings are on the irrigated valley floor, with Torrontés being a speciality alongside Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
