Christian beliefs about resurrection

Resurrection of the body. For many Christians it is a spiritual body, for others it is a new immortal physical body. Some believe they are raised from the dead and judged by God at death, when they go to either heaven or hell. Others believe this takes place on Judgement day.
Catholic beliefs about resurrection
Catholics believe that individual souls, which will eventually go to heaven, exist first in a state called purgatory where they are cleansed of their sins and made ready for heaven.
Hindu beliefs about reincarnation

The atman is eternal. Their goal is to obtain moksha. People who live in the right way achieve good karma. People who disregard the teaching of their faith will build up bad karma, which will influence the quality of their next life. The immortal essence of the atman continues into each life.

Buddhist beliefs about rebirth

They do not believe that people have souls, the continuity between each life is more cause and effect than the continuation of the soul. The consciousness of the person survives from life to life. Like a flame being transferred from one candle to another.
Christianity. John 11: 25-26

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

The view of atheists

There is no God and no survival after death.
The dualism of Rene Descartes
It is possible to doubt the existence of our bodies but we cannot doubt the existence of our minds because we have individual thoughts. "I think therefore I am."
"If the dead are not raised then Christ has not been raised either"

St Paul's letter to Corinthians
