If god is all loving then why does he make people suffer, unless he didn't know they were suffering, in which case he would not be all knowing, or if he couldn't stop the suffering, in which case he wouldn't be all powerful.

What does the story of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3) show?
It shows the consequences of free will. By disobeying God, Adam and Eve brought suffering and evil into God's perfect world.
What did Jusus' suffering on the cross show?

Jesus broke the power of evil and suffering over people by his innocent suffering and death on the cross. By rising from the dead and returning to heaven, Jesus gave hope that death was not the end and that people will continue to have a relationship with God after death.
