Mx of snake bite?

*Keep pt as still as possible


*Take a swab to examinate with venom detection kit



*Bandage the bite site firmly (should extend above the bite site for 15 cm)


*Splint the limb to immobilize it


*Transport to a medical facility for definitive tx

Mx of snake bite in hospital?

*Remove bandage


*Observe for s & s of envenomation


*Give antivenom if signs of envenomation present

Imp early symptoms of snake bite envenomation?

N, V, abdominal pain



Excessive sweating


Severe headache


Dizziness, blurred vision
