Are formed by adding as -er inflection. Eg, long-er

Superlative adjective

Are formed by adding -est. Eg, longest

Minor sentences

Are complete and meaningful statements that don't have a verb and subject combination.

Simple sentences

Must have a subject and verb. It should express a complete thought.

Compound sentences

Are independent clauses linked to another independent lauds by a coordinating conjunction.

Complex sentences

Consist of a main clause and a subordinate clause. A subordinating conjunction connects the clauses together.

Compound-compelx sentences

Are made from at least 2 coordinating clauses connected by a coordinating conjunction and at least 1 subordinate clause.
