What is Asian Journalism most similar to?
it is relatively similar to Western Journalism (CNN) despite efforts to present an Asian Perspective
What is wrong with Asian News?
-They do have a lack of money and technology
-Asian news claims they knw Asia more intimately and can work on a local and cultural level better than the West which is not true
-BBC and CNN have bureaus and staff in Asia too
We know there is not a significant difference between CNA (Asian News) and CNN (Western news).... so what do they both focus on?
Politics, war, terrorism, business, accidents, disasters, crisis, conflict.... these things drive their reports
What does CNN do that CNA does not?
-They are more cautious about how they present Asia, where as CNA fails to present Asia in a positive light.
-CNN also provides a broader perspective and more coverage of various Asian Regions
-CNA's coverage is more a function of journalists beliefs rather than what the managements belives to be important.
What does the Asian govt not always do?
they do not always allow journalistic freedom.
