*Amiodarone is a complex drug that affects sodium, potassium, and calcium channels-Acts on all cardiac tissues by prolonging the duration of the action potential and refractory period
*Has alpha and Beta-adrenergic blocking properties- Increases coronary perfusion and reducese PVR by relaxins smooth muscle *May provide some calcium channel blockade |

*Sensitivity to the drug
*Pulmonary edema *Cardiogenenic shock *Hypotension *Concurrent use of Procainamide or other drugs that prolong the QT interval |

300mg IVP, diluted over 20-30cc, consider repeating 1/2 dose of 150mg in 3-5 mins

*150mg infused over 10min, may repeat infusion as needed.
*Followed with slow infusion of 1mg/min=360 mg over 6 hours |
