NLRB v. Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp.
a United States Supreme Court case that declared that the National Labor Relations Act was constitutional. Jones and Laughlin were charged with discrimination against women and against workers who wanted to join a union.
Sit-down strike
instead of walking off their jobs, workers remained inside their plants, but they did not work. This prevented the factory owners from carrying on production with strikebreakers, or scabs.
