Alternate Required

Within +/- 1 Hr of ETA;



A) Ceiling will be at least 1000ft above minimum published in AIP for instrument procedure likely to be used; and



B) Visibility will be at least 5km, or 2km above minimum published in AIP for instrument procedure likely to be used, whichever is greater.

Precision Approach Alternate Requirements

A) Ceiling of 600ft, or 200ft above DA/DH, whichever is higher; and



B) Visibility of 3000m, or 1000m more than prescribed minimum, whichever is greater.

Non-Precision Approach Alternate Requirements

A) Ceiling or 800ft, or 200ft above MDA/MDH, whichever is higher; and



B) Visibility of 4000m or 1500m more than the prescribed minimum, whichever is greater

Secondary electrical power source for:



A) Ground based NAVAIDS necessary for the instrument approcah procedure to be used; and



B) Aerodrome lighting for night operations.

What must weather conditions be in order to allow a Pilot to take off under IFR?

A) Weather conditions at or above the weather minima for IFR take-off detailed in Op Data Chart for that aerodrome in AD 2, or;



B) If weather minima for IFR take-off are not detailed in AD 2, a ceiling of at least 300ft and above 1500m visibility

Reduced Take-Off Minma allows a Pilot to take-off under IFR with what cloud base and visibility?

Zero cloud base and visibility at or above 800m



Providied That;


A) The RWY to be used has centreline marking or lighting; and



B) The take-off weather vis is confirmed by the Pilot by observation of the RWY centreline marking or lighting (Lights are 60m apart, so need to see minimum of 13 lights); and
