Engine Failure on Final Approach
1. "Flaps 15" (Add thrust and rudder)

2. Accelerate to Vref + 20

3. Grnd Prox Flap Inhibit Sw -- FLAP INHIBIT
SINGLE ENGINE MISSED APPROACH:
"TOGA, FLAPS 1"
(straighten arm and straighten leg / advance thrust to G/A N1, rotate to 13 deg)
(track)
"POSITIVE RATE, GEAR UP, SET MISSED APPROACH ALTITUDE"
(track)
@ 500' AFL: "LNAV" or roll mode (window is open) "set 2X0" "FU After Takeoff Checklist"
@ speed 2X0: "LVL CHG" or "VNAV"
(monitor FUEL BALance)
Vertical Speed Approach
(utilized whenever VNAV PATH is not available or authorized)
Minimums are set at a DDA (MDA + 50')
Required when 1) FMC approach does not contain GP leg or 2) Glideslope is out of service
Vertical Speed Approach
(approaching the FAF/ setting altitudes)
1) Within 3 NM of the FAF and altitude hold is displayed or aircraft is on path..
..set Field Elevation or appropriate step-down altitude if there is an altitude restriction between the FAF and the DDA.

Note: Do not set F.E. in the MCP Altitude until all stepdown restrictions have been assured.

DUAL ENGINE MISSED APPROACH:
"TOGA, FLAPS 15"
(advance thrust to GA thrust and start rotation to 13-15 degrees nose up) "POSITIVE RATE, GEAR UP, SET MISSED APPROACH ALTITUDE" (continue rotation) (climbs fast)
@ 500' AFL: "LNAV" or roll mode (MCP speed window remains closed until ALT ACQ)
Acceleration: "F5, F1, FU, AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST"
@ FU Maneuver Speed: "LVL CH" or "VNAV"
If Altitude Acquire occurs prior to selecting LVL CHG or VNAV, call "SET 2XO" and continue to clean up.
Mandatory Verbal Confirmation Items:

(movement of the following switches or levers)

Add "Confirm" to the checklist item
1) retarding an Engine Thrust Lever

2) pulling a Fire Warning Switch

3) moving a Gen Drive Disconnect Switch to DISCONNECT

4) moving a Flight Control Switch

5) moving an IRS Mode Selector Switch to ATT

6) moving a Start Lever to CUTOFF
(does not apply to the Loss of Thrust on Both Engines checklist)
For engine shutdown, confirmation is accomplished as follows:

PNF announces, "Thrust Lever, #1 engine, confirm"

PF announces, "Confirmed #1"

PNF performs actions and reports execution, "Close"
See Intro to QRH for any changes and review
For Fire Switch pulling:

PNF places hand on the affected engine fire switch and announces:
"CONFIRM ENGINE X FIRE WARNING SWITCH"
PF visually verifies that it is the correct fire warning switch
and replies, "CONFIRMED".

PNF pulls (and rotates if required) the affected Engine Fire Warning Switch.
