Pharmacology

Sympathomimetic, A1 - peripheral vasoconstriction B1 - Inc rate, contraction, irritability B2 - bronchodilation.

Indications

1. Anaphylaxis 2. Bradycardia, inadequate 3. Arrest 4. Croup 5. Life threatening bronchospasm 6. Shock unresponsive to fluid.

Contraindications

1. KSAR.

Precautions

1. Hypovolemic shock. 2. Hypertension 3. MAOIs.

Side Effects

1. Anxiety 2. Headache 3. Hypertension 4. N+V 5. Palpitations/tachyrhythms 6. Pupil dilation.

Metabolism

Metabolised by sympathetic nerve endings and Monamine Oxidase.
