a. Repeating the message only louder and maybe more precisely (1st line of defense)
b. Changing the message so that semantic or syntactic features are altered (e.g., “dessert” --> “cake” = lexical/semantic change).
c. Taking the perspective of the listener (e.g., what is the listener most concerned about?) and providing more information accordingly.
d. You have to realize the need for patience to have successful communication. You also need to know your convo partner has a diff perspective on the convo than you do - your job is to figure out what they need to know and provide it to them
