Ethics Code 1.0

Responsible Conduct of Behavior Analysts: maintain high standards of behavior of the profession.

Ethics Code 1.01

Reliance on Scientific Knowledge (RBT): rely on professionally derived knowledge based on science and behavior analysis when making scientific or professional judgments in human service provision, or when engaging in scholarly or professional endeavors.

Ethics Code 1.02

Boundaries of Competence (RBT): provide services, teach, and conduct research only within the boundaries of their competence, defined as being commensurate with their education, training, and supervised experience. provide services, teach, or conduct research in new areas (e.g., populations, techniques, behaviors) only after first undertaking appropriate study, training, supervision, and/or consultation from persons who are competent in those areas.

Maintaining Competence Through Professional Development (RBT): maintain knowledge of current scientific and professional information in their areas of practice and undertake ongoing efforts to maintain competence in the skills they use

Ethics Code 1.04

Integrity (RBT): Truthful, honest, and arrange environment to promote Truthful and honest behavior; does not implement contingencies that cause others harm, follow through on work with high quality work, conforms to legal and ethics codes of the community, and make known to commitment of the code and responsible to the law.

Ethics Code 1.05

Professional and Scientific Relationships (RBT): provide behavior-analytic services in the context of a defined, professional, or scientific relationship or role; using language fully understandable to recipient of the services while remaining conceptually systematic of the profession, provide information prior to delivery of services of said nature, and appropriate information about results; obtain proper training, nl ,discrimination, do not knowingly harass, and recognize personal problems and conflicts may interfere with effectiveness.
