No connectivity

first check are you physically connected? Is your patch cable back of your computer? Do you have good Link lights etc.

Then check your IP addressing . Ping is your friend..

IP conflict(2 or more devices have same IP)

If you are a DHCP client IP conflict shouldn't be issue. However,If you have static devices in your network could be IP conflict. Most OS systems alert any IP conflict. Then you go find the bad guy..

Limited connectivity. Some stuff you can get you some of the stuff you can not.

Is the sign of a DHCP issue. In particular look for a apipa addresses. If you see a 169. 254 address when you going to ipconfig it's a problem with your DHCP server. Also if for example you have a 192.168.4 address then one-day it's 192.168.7 that's a sign you have a rogue DHCP server.

Intermittent connectivity..

Rare in wired network.. Means could have problem with cabling itself.. Could be a short. Also Something such as electrical device could be interfering with the cable. Moving the cable would solve this..

Undable to access resources on the network..(such as folders)

Example:Used to get to this folder but now can't..

1st can you get to the system. Try pinging it.. Then you may have problems with resources itself. Keep in mind it's not hard for NTFS and shared network resources to unplug or un-permit access of resources..

Slow transfer speeds

Usually a wireless issues that can show up on a wired network. It's time for you to open up task manager to see how hard your network card is being used. If It's really spiking up Take out the processes that are eating up your network bandwidth. Set QOS for hire priority for things more important to you.
