53ft 9in

Average cruising ranges GCWR with a full tank will vary based on what

CONDITIONS e.g varying load prolong idle and climatic conditions

Optmal cruising range

400 miles

Engine oil pressure measured in what unit

PSI (KPa)

Engine oil normal pressure at rated speed 1200 rpm

50 to 70 PSI (345-483 KPa)

Engine oil at idle speed 600 rpm

15 PSI (100 KPa) minimum

Tachometer registers engine speed in RMP

Maximum govern speed 2100

Idle speed 600 rpm

Primary air pressure gauge is registered in

PSI in REAR BRAKE SYSTEM

90-120 normal operating range

Air pressure normal operating range

90-120 (621-827KPa)

Secondary air pressure is registered in

PSI FRONT brake system

Engine JAKE BRAKE selector switches

2 4 or 6 cylinders

2 Left for 2 cylinder

4 Right for 4 cylinders

2 n 4 for 6 cylinders

Fifth wheel slide

Permit repositioning of sliding 5th wheel from inside cab

LOCK position- deactivate control valve n locks 5th wheel to baseplate

UNLOCK- activate control valve to allow CHANGES

INter-axle lockout control valve lever

Lock/unlock driveline based on driving conditions

LOCK- in poor tracktion STOP VEHICLE place lever in lock position

UNLOCK- when bak in normal conditions kove lever to unlock while moving

Parking brakes

Diamond shaped knob operates parking valve

Trailer air supply

Red octagonal shaped

Push- charge trailer air supply/release trailer spring brake

Pull- shut off air supply

LOW AIR PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT

Red light +buzzer sound when either section of dual system fail below 65psi

If in blackout only buzzer will go off

A5: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE

Registered in degrees

Collosion warning system CWS

Forward n side radar system

Transmit/receive signal off objects to front and side of tractor

A5 Primary air pressure gauge "A" rear brake system

Register in PSI

Normal operating range between RED BANDS

'B' secondary air pressure gauges

Register in PSI

Front brake system

Trailer and accessories

NORMAL range RED BANDS

Transmission oil gauge

Indicate transmission oil temperature in degrees Fahrenheit

Normal range in green bands

If needle goes to YELLOW or RED band STOP n investigate

A5 INTR AXLE LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH

Lock- stop vehicles press top of switch

Unlock- 25mph or less turn off switch

ABS indicator light

Yellow light come on when ignition is on

Go out after 5-10 sec

Buzzer wont go off if BO DROVE is on

Trailer ABS indicator light

When coupled to abs equipped trailer YELLOW light on for abs failure

Transmission warning light

REd light + buzzer comes on when temperature reaches 325F or 163C

Buzzer will no go off if in BO drive

low air pressure warning light

RED light +buzzer wen pressure falls below 65psi

Light switch mus be in SER DRV STOP LIGHT OR PARK for buzzer to sound

Buzzer wont go off in blackout drive

Engine BRAKES

Switch in HIGH MEDIUM LOW

A slowing device NOT a vehicle stopping device

Test operations for Engine brake

Let engine warm up before turning on the engine brake switch

Engine brakes uses engine oil to operate

Remove pressure from accelerator

Observe engine braking operation

Set switch to MEDIUM and HIGH for 4 to 6 cylinders

Engine brakes WARNING

Do not use if road surface is slippery

Using engine brake on wet icy or snow covered road could result in loss of vehicle control

Failure to follow warning may result in death or equipment damage

Braking function

Primary/secondary must be monitored

Shid have 90-120 psi

Braking functions ops

If air pressure falls below 65 psi

Buzzer will go off

A5 engine coolant temp normal range

190-225 °F

A5 engine oil pressure

40-75 @rated speed 2100rpm

10 psi for idle speed
