Emergency descent… ANNOUNCE

Engine START switches… on

Thrust LEVERS… close

Speed brake (BOARDS)… flight detent

Target SPEED... Mmo/Vmo

If structural integrity is in doubt, limit SPEED as much as possible and avoid high manevuering LOADs

LEVEL-off altitude… lowest safest altitude or 14,000 ft, whichever is higher

ABORTED ENGINE STARTS

Before start lever raised to idle:
engine START switch… off

After start lever raised to idle:

Before starter cutout:
start LEVER… cutoff
Continue to motor the engine for 20 seconds.
engine START switch… off

After starter cutout:
start LEVER… cutoff

After N2 decreases to zero:
engine START switch... gnd
Motor the engine for 20 seconds.
engine START switch... off.

Apu fire warning switch… PULL & ROTATE

Apu (APE) switch… off

ENGINE FIRE, SEVERE DAMAGE OR SEPARATION

Thrust LEVER… close
Start LEVER… cutoff
Engine fire warning switch… PULL

To manually unlock the engine fire switch, press the override and pull.

If the engine fire warning switch or eng overheat light remains illuminated:
Engine fire warning switch... ROTATE l or r

If after 30 seconds the engine fire warning switch or eng overheat light remains illuminated:
Engine fire warning switch... ROTATE to opposite stop and hold for one second.

If the engine fire warning switch or eng overheat light remains illuminated:
LAND at the nearest suitable airport.

If yaw or roll continues:
Yaw DAMPER switch… off

Do not engage autopilot roll channel above 30,ooo feet.

The yaw damper light illuminates when the yaw damper is disengaged.
