How did Cortes defeat the Aztec?
He killed Moctezuma and Cuautemoc. Spanish had deadly weapons made of steel and used gun powder, while Aztec weapons were made of wood. The Spanish also had lots of Indians supporters to help them win the war.
What did Bartoleme de las Casas not like? How did he solve this problem?
He did not like how the Indians were mistreated and made to work for no pay on the encomiendas in New Spain. He devoted himself to ending the encomiendas and met with the King of Spain. The king passed "New Laws of 1542" which said that Indians could no longer be made to work without pay.
