Central Pacific railroad |
Authorized by Congress in 1862. It was financed by the Big Four and engineered by Theodore Judah. This railroad relied greatly on Chinese and Irish immigrant workers. The government gave them $16,000 / easy mile and $48,000 for every rough mile |

Series of government actions that promote of the construction of the Central Pacific Railroad. This act authorized the issuing of government bonds and grants to railroad companies such as the Union Pacific Railroad and the Central Pacific Railroad.
