Why I Want To Be A Teacher?

Salaries for high school teachers with fifteen years of experience and the minimum level of education and training required to be certified exceeded $40,000 in Denmark, Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands and exceeded $60,000 in Switzerland. In the United States, it was $35,000. With statistics like this, people wonder why anyone would want to be a teacher. Teaching is not for everyone. I personally tell people “you do not understand why people would want to teach, unless you want to teach.” With the low pay, long hours, rude kids and possibly rude parents, and office politics that would make a lawyer’s head spin, why would anyone want to teach? I moved seven times throughout my whole academic career due to divorce, changing homes, and being relocated due to my parent’s job. I saw many different houses, and with every different house, I saw a different school and many different teachers. Through this, I discovered all teachers are not created the same and I experienced many different types of teachers. I have had teachers who only cared about the jocks, teachers who do not like to teach, but do it only for the pay heck, and teachers who are just a little bit too crazy, but out of all of the teachers I experienced, my favorite were those who cared. These are the teachers who would take the time to make sure everyone actually understood the concept and stay after school if someone did not, the teachers who would decorate their classrooms to make them more than just four boring walls, the teacher who would connect the lesson to something current so it would be interesting and stick in the students head. Those were the teachers who inspired me into wanting to be a teacher myself, and one stood out more than the
